Birch Grove, E11
We have designed a new fully glazed rear extension that makes most of the spectacular view of a mature oak tree in the garden. The upgraded structure benefits from additional insulation and a fully glazed roof with integrated sliding doors system. The double glazed system provides much better sound insulation, is very easy to clean and keeps the heat at bay with the low solar gain control coating. The multi-angled plot was squared off with a new triangular flat roof section in order to provide a cosy corner for reading. We have also specified new engineered oak flooring for the first floor and overseen the project from start to practical completion.
Size: 40 sqm
Status: Completed Spring 2018
Glazing: ID Systems
“Having Carlo from made with volume on board to work on the redesign of a troublesome extension made what would have been for me and my partner a daunting task, an enjoyable process.
Carlo’s interest in and enthusiasm for the project was infectious, and his depth of knowledge about available products and suppliers has saved us hours of research. He tuned into our aesthetic tastes very quickly, took on board all of the problems we wanted to resolve through the redesign process, and throughout the process he thought of issues and solutions that would not have occurred to us.
Carlo has been a really pleasant, reassuring and inspiring person to work with, and was clear about the scope of his work and charges from the start.
As we move into the building stage we feel confident that we have a clear and well thought out brief and technical drawings to take out to tender, and feel that commissioning made with volume has been money very well spent.”
